Lake Lanier

What You Get

Real Estate

It’s nearly impossible to give a Real Estate snapshot of Lake Lanier simply because of its sheer size. Lake Lanier is the largest lake in Georgia, having nearly 700 miles of shoreline spread over 38,000 acres. Furthermore, Lake Lanier has shoreline that touches five different Georgia counties. Several small towns are within Lake Lanier with the two largest cities being Buford and Gainesville.

Homes on the lake are offered at very wide range of price points. There are massive lake front homes and smaller cottages as well. Prices can range from under $300,000 to well over $800,000. Location, water type and water depth are all factors that come into play.

Education

Again because of the size of Lake Lanier, there are several cities and counties that serve the educational needs of the residents. The cities that border Lake Lanier are GainesvilleCumming, Flowery BranchDawsonville, Murrayville, Oakwood and Buford.

Parks & Rec

Over 45 parks and 10 campgrounds line the shores of Lake Lanier.  In 2013, Lanier welcomed its first state park, Don Carter State Park.
